Operatives of the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Delta State Command, yesterday arrested a 32-year-old, Hassan Ughellivero, and his 12- year-old daughter, Faith Ughellivero, for allegedly peddling drugs in Osubi town, Warri north local government area of the state.
Confirming the arrest of the suspects to journalists in Ogwashi-Uku, the state commander of the agency, Mr Frank Hanachor, said the 12-year-old girl was arrested following a tip-off with 1.6kgs of dried weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa, while the father who had earlier been on the run was arrested with 500kg of dried weeds suspected to be cannabis sativa.
While saying that a total sum of the exhibit recovered from the man and the daughter weighed 2.1kg pf cannabis sativa, the NDELA commander disclosed that the female suspect was referred to social welfare for counselling and rehabilitation, while the father would soon be arraigned before a competent court of law for trial.
